Installation Instructions
Before you attempt a wiring harness installation, you must unhook the wind machine battery and turn the Manual-Off-Auto switch to the OFF position.
Step 1: Battery Disconnect
Disconnect the wind machine engine’s 12V battery.
Step 2: CAN Display
Locate the CAN Display (Kantrak or VeeThree) and install the two 12-pin Deutsch connectors.
Remove the 12-pin Deutsch plug from the back of the CAN display. Press in the top and bottom levers to release the plug. Wiggle it free.
Insert the Altrac wiring harness 12-pin Deutsch plug into the back of the display.
Insert the old 12-pin Deutsch plug into the Altrac wiring harness 12-pin Deutsch receptacle.
Step 3: Accessory Port
Connect the two 6-pin Deutsch connectors to the Altrac wiring harness accessory port.
Remove the currently attached accessory or dust cap from the accessory port.
Insert the WH131 6-pin Deutsch receptacle onto the accessory port 6-pin connector.
Insert the accessory onto the WH131 6-pin Deutsch plug (when applicable).
Secure the Altrac wiring harness away from the fan belt and exhaust.
Step 4: Disconnect RPM connector
Remove the existing Altrac wiring harness RPM connector from the engine. Replace the RPM sensor connector onto the sensor. Secure the old Altrac RPM pigtail with zipties.
Each engine type has a different RPM sensor. For detailed instructions please see Zendesk articles for your specific engine type:
Step 5: Reattach Battery
Step 6: Firmware Update
In order to properly communicate with the CAN network, Altrac will need to perform a firmware update for your Wind Machine Station. Please contact support for help: support@altrac.io
Step 7: Final Test
To run the wind machine you must have the Manual-Off-Auto switch in the ‘Auto’ position, and the autostart must be armed. You will see a blinking white light when the autostart is armed.
Test run the wind machine to ensure you are receiving the new RPM signal.
