Features
The WH104 wiring harness allows you to remotely monitor and control Ford V10 engines. With the Altrac web app you can control your wind machine, pump, or generator from anywhere with an internet connection.
The wiring harness monitors engine battery voltage, automatic/manual switch location, engine speed, and optional fuel level.
To remotely control the engine you must have an autostart controller installed. The wiring harness provides a Call to Run (open collector output) to signal the autostart to start the engine.
General Specifications
Operating Temperature
-40°C to 80°C (-40°F to 176°F).
Power Requirements
Input power at PWR+ must be between 9V and 42V DC.
Call to Run
Low-side MOSFET switched output with a maximum drain current of 4 amps.
Cellular Connectivity
Altrac equipment uses 2G/3G networks on AT&T and T-Mobile. The Altrac will automatically pick the strongest signal for its connection.
Outdoor Ready
All components are IP67 rated for maximum protection in harsh outdoor environments.
WH113 Call to Start V10 Wire Harness Installation
Step 1.
Disconnect the wind machine engine’s 12V battery.
Step 2.
Connect the black ground wire to a ground source on the engine. Other ground wires are usually green or black.
Step 3.
Connect Red Wire to the bottom-middle contact of the MAN-OFF-AUTO switch on the wind machine gauge panel. You will need to remove the switch with a crescent wrench.
Step 4.
Connect Brown wire to the bottom-left contact of the MAN-OFF-AUTO switch on the wind machine gauge panel. You will need to remove the switch with a crescent wrench.
Step 5.
To attach the RPM sensor you will need to unplug the existing speed sensor connector from the sensor.
HINT: The sensor is located behind the wind machine battery near the fan belt. You will need to remove the wind machine battery to access the sensor.
Step 8.
Locate the RPM connector pair on the Altrac Wiring Harness
Step 9.
Plug the female connector from the Altrac harness into the speed sensor and the original female connector into the male on the Altrac harness. This will create a bridge between the sensor and the original connector.
HINT: Secure the Altrac wiring harness away from the fan belt and exhaust with zip ties. The moving belt will quickly destroy wiring.
Step 10
If there is anything connected to the Call to start port on the autostart we will need to disconnect the previously installed wire for the Altrac system to control the wind machine.

Attach the white wire to port 12 on your autostart
Step 11.
Reattach the wind machine battery.
Step 12.
Connect the new wiring harness to the Altrac Station via the 12-pin connector on the control line.
HINT: You should tuck the connector up under the wind machine hood when you are finished installing to maximize weather protection.
Step 13.
Connect temperature probe and any other sensors to appropriate connections.
Step 14.
To run the wind machine you must have the Manual-Off-Auto switch in the ‘Auto’ position, and the autostart must be armed. You will see a blinking white light when the autostart is armed.
Step 15.
Run the wind machine to ensure the Altrac is installed correctly. You should run the wind machine long enough to see an RPM reading.
